shameless artist: victor ochoa

check out my friend and talented illustrator Victor Ochoa. He has an amazing comic book entitled Nobodies Volume 2 in the works, that I absolutely adore and will be exhibiting here at New Yorks Comic Con…MAJOR! trying to break into the comic book world through traditional routes is more often a dead end. Victor wanted his voice to be heard and decided to compile a collection of other “unknown” talented artist to get their stories into the hands of readers (sound familiar?) but as all artist he needs $$$. I admire him for stepping up to the plate and putting his face out there in this kickstarter video! we really are living in the day and age of the “self made” #shameless self-promotion age!!!  we have all the resources at our finger tips to make it happen! so why not use it?
oh wait! let me back track…for those of you that don’t know, Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website, a resource to help you get that money you need from friends, family, or generous randoms on the internet. for those of you self starters saying “boo hoo i have no money to create this awesome project i have in mind” you can now shut up. all you need to do is have a passionate well pitched idea communicated via a video and get the word out there. the catch! there is a monetary goal and a deadline. if you don’t reach your goal by the specified date you loose all the donations. so set realistic goals that can be achieved. awesome right? have an ambitious project but just need a little financial kickstart? this is the place for you…check it out

it’s 2012! things are not what they were 5 years ago. you really can seize control of your life and make your own entrepreneurial dreams become a reality. if you’re sitting back allowing life to carry you you are shooting yourself in both feet. you seriously have to do everything in your power to make it happen and can. the competition is heavy! everything is saturated!!! everybody is doing what you’re doing and then some! while filming this video i had to take in this reality…damn! visual artist that aren’t interested in the limelight now need to get in front of camera’s to make it happen. any who…think less and do more! i have no doubt Victor will go far! despite being stuck between a rock and a hard place he as well as other successful artist are finding new and creative ways to reach their dreams. once you know what you want for yourself you will find a way to overcome the hurdles that no doubt pop up. i’m just really excited for him and his bravery for putting this video up. oh and yes i shot this vid and yes you should check it out, and yes you should donate anything you can even $5 and YES i make a cameo at the end.  super impressed! check it out:
